I guess its a good idea as a newbie to this forum to post on a thread that I know a bit about .
Yes it was cramped in places , one trader paid up front for his space as required, then on arrival he found that the NRA had taken part of his space and sold it to another trader , but did not offer him a partial refund . And the other trader did not have direct access to his stand , but was expected to walk through the first traders stand space!
Yet the NRA gentleman who organised the setup kept quoting Health & Safety rules for public space as a reason why half the traders could not use the covered veranda or all the space at the rear of the ballroom .
Space costs were up , well sort off . After all the NRA had to pay the security teams that they employed for the show.
Some traders did have credit card machines with them , you could tell who they were as they could be seen with one hand clutching the card reader , waving it around in the air , trying to get a connection . You really would think the NRA would have a cell tower on site !
Will there be any more Phoenix trade shows ? Who knows , the NRA certainly dont as the best responce I could get was .........."NO , well maybe 50/50"
Meanwhile , I believe parts of the ballroom ceiling have collapsed .
Only the NRA could turn a cash generating assett into a money pit .
