It is telling that I cannot see a UK contact. We are so fractured as a groups with each discipline only interested in looking after its own.
Why would there be a UK contact? We've already surrendered. There's nothing they can do to help us.

We are still in the EU for the foreseeable future - so any crap that comes down the pipe is still something we might get stuck with.
Even if we are almost out of the EU the usual suspects such as the GCN and its panderers in the government and senior police may point to it and say what a good idea it'd be if we were harmonious with Europe.

The Commission is keen to ban the sale of high capacity magazines and all semi-automatic rifles - so that could easily mean the end of magazines for the Saigas and sundry AK rifles here. It could even mean the large capacity mags for things like GSGs, SGC, Rugers and other militaryesque .22 rifles - as well as the rifles themselves.

So still plenty of scope to turn the crank a few notches against us.

Some people are voicing concerns it seems like a scam. If it is it's an extremely knowledgable, informed, and proactive one. I've been following their progress for some months now and am extremely impressed with their relentless passion and efforts.

I dunno. For years we've been saying things like our NRA bends over and takes it, if not actively encourages it. People say BASC are impotent enablers and so on. 'Why can't we have a pro-active pro-firearm lobby like the USA's NRA?' we shout.

Then when a really vocal organization pops up on issues that threatens ramifications for most of Europe's shooters, including us, we prod it suspiciously with a stick and find excuses not to support it.
'Probably a scam.'
'Doesn't affect us.'
'Buggers want donations in Euros.'
'Sounds a bit swarthy.'

It was the same after Dunblane. Fractured and self-interested reasons to keep our heads down.

'I only shoot .22 rifles'
'I shoot black powder'
'I only collect deacts.'
'They surely won't want my .22 target pistol.'

I'm going to bung 'em a few quid. I think it's worth a flutter. I've chucked more money away on the Derby and the Grand National each year - and I KNEW that was going to happen.

FU is not bogus site/scam.More like "the last far cry"...last week SOMETHING happened behind closed door in EC.This folks is trying to figure out how bad it is and how to fight it-if not to late...looks like some restrictions will be MORE severe then present UK firearms law.As Darks Skies pointed out-interesting times are coming...Com.Corbin wants to ban all the petrol/diesel cars in the near future...Trump was aided by Russia...oh yeah-lets go shooting :squirrel:

Dark skies I think that is a bit unfair.

OK you have been following them for months, some of us here get a link from you and have some questions and then get condemned by you for not being immediately convinced.

I know very little about the organisation other than the writings on a website, the world is full of such things and I for one need a bit more convincing about them, I am awaiting a response to my email to them.

I am sorry if all these foreign links and names mean nothing to me but obviously I am not as global as you and get damned for it, well there is bit more shooter divisiveness, created by yourself, to add to your list.

It wasn't a personal attack, I assure you. Sorry if you thought it was.
I was merely generalizing on the same comments I've read pretty much everywhere, here, on other UK forums, and multi-media.

As shooters we've been screwed on a regular basis over the decades and every time we seem to either have been expecting somebody else to save us or contented ourselves that our particular discipline was not the actual target. Resistance has been futile because those that did try to do something were too small or fractured.

Given the above surely you'd think by now we'd all be sufficiently paranoid enough to have one eye permanently looking over our shoulder, not just on our own government and meddling busybodies but also on those within the EU legislators, for any anti-shooting bull-crap and checking out rumours to see if there is any truth in them.

This particular Commission attack on shooting is hardly new - it's been regularly referred to on this forum along with references to Firearms United. I went the distance and started to regularly read their reports and found them to be proactive in a way the UK organizations could never be bothered to be. I like that. Anybody reading this can do the same by visiting the link and reading back over their many, many reports.

Even if making a donation is problematic readers are still free to pester the appropriate EMPs with emails putting our point of view at no cost to ourselves but significant annoyance to them.

I just feel that we have nothing to lose by for once throwing our concerted weight behind something that appears to be truly organized with some serious money behind it.
At least afterwards, regardless of what may happen, we have nothing to reproach ourselves for ... unlike the aftermath of spiteful legislation following Hungerford / Dunblane.

Well I do write to my MP and MEP and do what I can because I believe I should. After Dunblane I travelled, I marched, I wrote, I donated and have continued continued to do what I can in that spirit.

I am sure that a lot of other shooters do as well but do not necessarily come on the internet to shout about it and I am also sure that many who do come here are also doing what they can. But as I have said many of us are not global or trust anything that comes to us over the internet unless we personally know the source, so there is another division, communications.

Regardless I will do what I can even although I know the democratic process is dead and no one in power listens to anything other that that which supports their own agenda. Brexit, Trump and the rise of anti politics are the response to this and still they ignore what people think. I have been a political activist for most of my life but unfortunately it changed nothing.

I do what my conscience tells me secure in the knowledge that no one is listening, history shows me that.

Funny how they do that with politicians who could probbaly save us if you voted for them...nahhh that will never happen.

Not saying it's a scam, just saying when it has NO physical location whatsoever then think about who you may be sending money to...Question then is - WHY has it no location?? Just WHO are you sending money to - not crying foul, it's just plain common sense.

Of course as others have said, if our OWN organisations got their digits extracted then maybe we wouldn't need virtual organisations to sort out this mess..or at least try to.

We cant really blame anyone who is a bit wary of sending money to an organisation that appears to have no firm home address .

When you think of how the organisations that still exist sold shooters out after Dunblane . And lets not forget a certain well known shooting journalist who did very well post Dunblane with Radio and TV appearances .

And the worst of all was the NPA . They could not wait to fold their tents and fade away into the night . What reaslly did happen to the money in the NPA accounts ? . Perhaps a certain Lord C could shed some light on this .
