Unfortunately being a member of Fullbore UK unlike other forums after a very short period of time you don't have the option to edit your posts so its there for every one to see. If there is any one sad enough to want to unsubscribe me from the NRA up dates on the forum then be my guest. The lack of updates from the NRA will not cause me any sleepless nights. I suspect that the fact that I am a Club Secretary will cause them to very soon find a way to get in touch especially as they want money from me for club renewal stuff in December.

I think every NRA full member who has registered with them will receive these updates as a matter of course.
I certainly do, although I've never actually requested them.

My underlying issue with this and the thing we should be most concerned about is the power grab by Continuity ACPO and the Police in general.

Our current laws around firearms are drafted by civil servants and then voted on by parliament, whilst we might not agree with all those laws they are at least put in the statute book after a proper democratic process.

It is well known that in the last few decades the Police, ACPO and now Continuity ACPO have wanted to in effect have control over what goes into firearms legislation and have changes made at their whim without recourse to the politicians.

This is not the first time they have tried to get 50cal and MARS rifle banned among other things, they were told to wind their necks in by the then Home Secretary Mrs May. This has stuck in their craw ever since and now there is a weak minority government distraccted by the ongoing train wreck that is Brexit they leap in with requests!

The Police and Continuity ACPO should not be drafting Firearms legislation, they can as an interested party advise the politicians as is right and proper. Continuity ACPO would love for Firearms legislation to be at their whim without recourse to court, they have more than once put forward the idea that they should have the last say without the right to appeal as a way to be more Reactive to changing security situations! The whole 50cal "What would happen if a terrorist got one?" argument is a fine example of this.

This is just another step down that line...

How about everyone who has pontificated making a small donation to the FCSA fighting fund - rather than adding yet another comment?

I'm pleased to say that my own club has already done it.

Vince I have been advocating the same over on UKV.......... FCSA are leading the push-back far more overtly than national bodies.

Brill that some clubs such as yourselves and Oundle are savvy and generous enough to appreciate that more than words are needed.

FCSA are missing a trick by excluding MARS & other rapid firing rifles, they'd get more donations if they included them.

I suspect that people and clubs are contributing I don't think Diggle is the only one, we will be considering it at our Sunday committee meeting, there is time enough to contribute as I understand it any money will only be used after the consultation has failed for a legal challenge. There is less time to contribute to the consultation which will be closing on the 9th December.

Who is taking the fight for the Lever release owners and raising a fighting fund for them?

Contributing on here and contributing financially to the fight is not an either or, I think you do some people, clubs and this thread a disservice.

Nobody is for lever release owners I would think, albeit I would find it interesting how much noise the UKPSA has made about it considering the existence magazine fed Section 1 shotguns (then again they seem to be more concerned about stopping the NRA encroaching into their IPSC turf).

Yes Dave, I got the FCSA fighting fund details from the UKV forum.

Perhaps someone on this forum could start the MARS fighting fund - rather than just talking about it........
