Its well beyond me CHUCK. I open the laptop, press the start button and away we go. That's as difficult as I want it to be. All the modern stuff is beyond me I'm afraid. Too old to learn new tricks mate.

Best Regards

Me too these days but I like my home entertainment. It is actually quite easy to follow and the main sector tells you all about the latest HDMI standards and what is best HDMI cable for your set up.

Seems they are not all the same - personally I like Monster cables but apparently one sold by Tesco at around £26 got a great review from one of the Hi Fi magazines.

Yes a minefield of differing but improving specifications. Version 1.4 is required to fully support the 3D and networking capabilities.

I have just purchased one of these ... http://www.cablesuk.co.uk/5M-HDMI-Cable ... -p189.html Have a look at the various versions they have available. Don't worry about the original/list prices though and avoid teh high street stores as they will sell at those prices.

Really though they are expensive I think around £75, BUT once you register them they can be upgraded for free to the next upgrade etc
