My wife bought a second hand Buckmark LBP and we're having a few failure to feed issues. It will fire a couple of rounds and then the slide stays back like it's out of ammo. If you release the slide it feeds fine and continues to fire for a couple more rounds then does it again.

We've stripped it down, cleaned it and bought a couple of new mags (just in case the old ones were knackered) but it's still failing to feed.

Does anyone have any similar experiances? I forgot to mention, the mag will ocassionally eject when firing, could the 'bit' that holds the magazine in be getting lose or worn?

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Dave, first thing I would do is try it with your non shooting hand or have someone else shoot it. It may be that you are inadvertantly applying upward pressure to the slide release. Also, should the mag be dropping out you may again be pressing the mag release. It could purely be down to grip especially if you've tried a couple of new mags and it does the same. Mag catch and slide release worn or giving that sort of jip, unlikely.

Just out of interest, what ammo you running in it?

Oh, and I doubt very much whether you have a "new" Buckmark.........

Both myself and wife have tried it and it's doing it to both us, however, will look a bit closer at her grip and see if she's catching the slide release and vice versa.

We've run both CCI mini mags and Aguila, both high velocity.

I'll also add, new recoil springs and try some standard and subs in it. Blow back semi's can do some odd things when hot ammo is fired with tired springs.

I once saw footage of a 10/22 where the bolt "bounced" five times against the breech face before "closing".

I have a browning buckmark pistol i would get the odd failure to feed but not the slide sticking open. The slide would stick up against the round in the magazine sometimes but you can get that with a rimmed round. PS I use standard cci in it.

I find mine to be quite sensitive to trigger release. I must have got into a bad habit of not fully releasing the trigger at some point in the past. If my Buckmark is clean and I make a concious effort to let the trigger go I rarely see blockages.

That said, I was on Butt Zero yesterday and the magazines we're sticking slightly but then it was a tad chilly.

Almost forgot, I'm shooting cheap fairly high velocity ammo. A mixture of American Eagle and some new really cheap and cheerful stuff called Centurion.
