Moderator for .38spl

Hi all,

I'm thinking of having some work done to my Marlin and I'd quite fancy a moderator for it.

I'm having trouble finding one for .38 calibre. What brand would you recommend?

Seen some companies offering other calibres as 'special order' but no details on what decibel reduction to expect.

I just wanted an off-the-shelf mod for my 9mm and the only one i could find at a sensible price was a Wildcat Predator 12, which was actually designed to handle up to .375 H&H, so just a tad over kill Anyway, i've since sold that through lack of use, but because of the lack of market for pistol sound mods here, you'll probably struggle

How was it in terms of noise reduction? Custom one is going to cost me £220+ RFD fees

Also, what calibre should I state for my certificate? Already got .22, .223 & .30 calibre mods available.

Because of the blowback action of the LRA9 the noise reduction didn't seem that great when you were the one shooting it, but there was a considerable difference for anyone standing to the side. They would work considerably better on a gun that has to be manually operated.

That is a great price for a custom mod! I'd ask for .38spl/.357mag

Need to decide on what scope now. Main use is 25m gallery shooting off hand at PL12s.

Any recommendations?

For that use personally i'd go for a red-dot, but if you insist on a scope you can't really go wrong with a 1-5 x 32mm Whitetail Classic
