All change! Now moving to Sussex and have a few Qs.
Any rifle clubs of note (308/223/22LR)?
Any I should avoid?
What are typical holdings granted on FAC for the above (I currently have 1000)?
Can I bung my 2+1 shottie on the FAC?

I don't know of any clubs with facilities for 223&308 in sussex but Bisley ain't far. And there's plenty of good clubs in sussex
I think the standard limits on ammo are like 1500 buy 1000 hold on 22. I have buy 300 hold 400 in 223 & 6.5x55

Cheers.
My immediate concern is joining a club so I can get my "grant" [conversion] out of the way but I don't want to waste time/effort joining 'any old club' that's full of anally retentive spackers. (No offence if you're an anally retentive spacker*).

* By which I mean people who would suffer an embolism on sighting an AR15/10...

Why don,t you contact the Membership Dept of the NRA and tell them what type of shooting that you want to do. They can then forward your details to NRA affiliated clubs that may be appropriate to what you want to do. The clubs will then make contact with you. You could always join the NRA.

Might be a good idea (I'm an affiliate only at the moment) but I wanted to canvass 'live' opinion from shooters here.

I've got a club squared-away now.
Can anyone confirm typical fullbore ammo limits for Sussex? Would I be knocked back if I asked for 2000?
Is there any way to bung my Sect 2 shotty on the FAC and be done with it or must they be separate?
Also, for future reference, what are the regs on upgrading a sec 2 shotgun to Sect 1 on the mainland? Do I need to be part of a PSG club and/or organisation?

I believe just being a member of the NRA and/or an affiliated club is considered "good reason" now.

Am in East Sussex.
Bisley is an hour and a half but that it can be less but often a lot longer- dam M25
Sec 2 to sec 1 shotgun is as above- good reason, be it Target Shotgun or vermin etc

I'm in Sussex. Other than Bisley the clubs I know of all use lead boolits only which is a pain in the butt. As for limits on ammo, it seems to be a mixed bag. Some guys I know had no issues or were offered increases without asking. Others (myself included) had a tough time of it. I ended up making a formal complaint which resolved my issues but it was far from a satisfactory experience..
