Hand warmers

I was out shooting last Saturday, standing around as RCO my fingers got quite cold and one of the shooters offered me a disposable hand warmer, 'Hothands' from Tescos, they work out at 40p each and I was impressed at just how warm it kept my fingers when I popped it inside a glove.

Does anyone have any recommendations for disposable hand warmers?

these work well or these if they are in stock, or you could go with a Zippo type hand warmer, I use the disposables inside mitten type gloves when stuck up in a high seat, they are a lifesaver

We bought some for skiing a couple of years ago from a well known auction site. They were cheap in bulk and would last a few hours each.
There are also electric gloves worth looking at, some can last almost a full day and have swappable batteries if it's a long one

As above, purchased a whole box full and worked out at just onder 50p a pair. They last a good 6-8 hours and I find if you take them out and let the air get to them, they get hotter again.
I see the same packs sold for£2 in the local camping shops!

And a personal favourite of mine...

Boiled eggs!

They stay hot for a suprisingly long time and when they start to cool off - you eat them!

This is a fav technique of mine when camping, boil in water for tea (two fit in bottom of trangi kettle with enough water for a mug of tea), then keep in pocket for a snack later.

I still use the 2 hand warmers with compressed charcoal rods, that you light and place inside a safety wallet. I bought them over 40 years ago and they still work well.
I place one in the small of my back and one in my pocket, which I swap to the other pocket from time to time.
I find that if I keep my back warm, I am much more comfortable, (getting old I guess!)

Well if there is it just spices the tea up some. DM being an old soldier, hell he's probably drunk worse. The old cookhouse tea comes to mind.
