I current short a x20 scope and find I can't see the white v bull as clear as I would like. Any thoughts on what magnification and reticle would be best. I'm looking at x 32 Sightrons.
Thanks

I have 8-32 niteforce BR and a sightron 8-32 LRMOA, for me both work perfectly well, niteforce a bit more refined in its build, but sightron considerably cheaper, try and have a play with both and see what you think.

I have a Trijicon 5 - 20 x 50 Accupoint scope which I quite like. The optical quality is superb and the illuminated aiming point quite helpful at times. I don't know what these might be worth in the UK, but I paid NZ$1,800 for it, and MSRP is US$1,500 - 1,550 so likely will fall into your price range.

They have a choice of 3 reticles - post, standard duplex cross-hairs and Mil-Dot. If you are shooting F/TR class at known distances you may not need Mil-Dot. I have the duplex cross-hairs and find it quite sufficient.

The only complaint I have is that is doesn't have a huge adjustment range (40 MOA) and therefore you will need a sight base with at least 20 MOA built in.

Sightron for me. 8-32 x is enough for me to be able to place the centre dot where I wasnt it in the v bull at any distance.I am not a fan of fixed magnification scopes as there is no room to play if mirrage or poor weather has your wanting to power down a bit.
I found Sightron a good compromise between weight, price, elevation and quality.

A number of new scopes being announced at the shot show which may affect the second hand market.

Sightron scopes offer superb value and the UK importer John Dean of Aimfield Sports is a field and target shooter himself - in fact I shot with him in an 800 yd F Class comp today.

I like the 8-32 for F Class - with the LRMOA reticle. It's a great scope and John gives a great 'after-sales' service. I have an 8-32 Nightforce needing repair and it'll be away 3 months.

I have been looking at the vortex viper pst scope which is getting good things said about it, and not a bad price.
Anyone got experience with these.

25 x doesn't cut it at 1000 yds for F Class generally. So they recon. :flag6:
