20" 6.5x47

So I am thinking, which is never a good thing I grant you of a new rifle. I'm pretty certain it'll be built on a Remington 700 action and I'm think of going 6.5x47 but I like short. Anyone with any experience on short 6.5s and how well they shoot?

I've had one or two - barrels ranging from 22 to 30 inches. My current one is 22 inches and I've shot it in tactical style comps out to 1000 yards.
20 inches will work - but not as good as say a 24 or 26 inch. Out to say 300 yds accuracy will be unaffected but of course max. effective range will be limited by lack of velocity.
