Revisiting 357 magnum

I have a range tomorrow but its only a 25 yard job. I went to my gun cabinets to see what toys I could have a play with. I moved a .357 Winchester 94 AE (angle eject) out of the way to see what was in the back of the cabinet. I was stood there holding the Winchester thinking what should I take. You guessed it I spent another thirty minutes hunting in my gun room for dies and cases. Discovered a box of 158 grain cast boolits and some 158 grain semi wad cutters. Turned up three tubs of Unique powder. So had a pleasant evening re loading .357 first off with a Lee loader and a mallet. Then moved on to a set of RCBS dies I found. I was not to keen on the expanders I have got so my next project is to machine a Lyman type M die to expand the cases. Great fun just hope they shoot Ok.

I'd love a cabinet big enough and full enough to be able to hide stuff at the back :-)
Enjoy your day tomorrow!

.357 Magnum loads - when are you going to move up to the big boys guns?

25 yards with a .357 rifle is a damn good way to spend a Saturday morning! Never had much luck with Unique in this calibre, even though it's my powder of choice in .44spl.

I'll second that!

My Rossi 38/357 may not be the coolest or best underlever available, but it never fails to make me smile whenever I use it. clapclap

I just love my Handi Rifle in 45/70.
The boolit strike at 200 yards is very distinctive - SMACK!

Bravo, I think everyone should experience reloading with a Lee loader and a mallet and shoot their newly made rounds. Considering the process the accuracy never ceases to impress me and really it is not a million miles from reloading with Wilson dies, the only difference is the cost.

Well that was a fun day I will definitely be shooting it again soon. Any one want to buy a Lee loader in .357.
