Hi Folks,

Now there's a thing. At my age I've been trying hard to forget birthdays. However very many thanks to you all for your very kind wishes and greetings. All very much appreciated.

It is pouring with rain and the scaffolders have turned up to erect the scaffolding around our two chimneys to enable the builders to start work tomorrow to take them down, put in new trays and damp-proof courses and rebuild them. What a rotten job for them in this weather. Have to keep them plied with tea and coffee. Otherwise a quiet day.

Again many thanks to you all.

Vagabond, have a great birthday and keep out of the rain, it is wet and feels bitterly cold here today. Odd how roofs and chimneys always seem to need repair once the cold season is upon us or it starts raining.
