Ar15/M16 A1 Bipod options

Hi folks, hopefully this is in the right place. I've an AP74 (M16 A1 clone) and trying to source a bipod for it. Currently, I use a '67 Milsurp 'clothes pin' folding bipod - looks the part, but as the A frame sight isn't quite wide enough at the base to accept it, its clipped to the barrel just after it - not the best arrangement for accuracy.
So I'm looking for a bipod that fits the old school 'triangular' forestock. I see Harris do a B5 adaptor, but that's for A2 stocks where the split is horizontal - any ideas?

The only other option is to mount it to the M7 bayonet lug, but as it isn't a free-floating barrel, it's still going to affect the accuracy of the rifle. Personally I'd stick with your clothespin bipod, it looks the part IMO. Vera-Pod make a bayonet lug bipod adapter if you're interested though.

Cheers Halodin, I'll look into that option. I looked at the bayonet adaptor versions but they don't have a great rep apparently - not too secure. Meanwhile I'll use the clothespin and aim a bit lower

I doubt VersaPod's adapter would come off if that influences your opinion. I have one of their bipods and it's seriously well made. That being said, I have the same problem with my FAL and I decided not to mount the bipod in the interest of accuracy.

I know that UKMCPro are fab resellers in the UK so you could try there, or also try NWcustomparts, as this is where I got my FAB rails from.
Actually you could also try
