I recently ummmmd and arrrrhhd to much over the Henry that was advertised and missed it.

So I took a trip to the local shop to look at what they had.

I liked the look and feel of the new Rossi 38/357 stainless hex barrel they had and at just over 500 quid new I nearly bought it. But a friend mentioned that the stainless ones were not reliable. No idea where he heard this from!

So, Is it true? Or was this another rumor spread from a small number of failures?

Shot one for years. Only sold it because I had an original'92---it was as good when I sold it as when it was new---very accurate and would feed any bullet shape. Note that, like the original, you cannot mount a telescopic sight on top.

Sorry to say I had one and got rid of it in under a week - I just didn't get on with it!
Parts for them can be a problem too, if something should break.

I'd take one in preference to the current Marlin junk anyday...a much better design as the Rossi uses the '92 action

ISTR hearing that they were sorting that out now. Does anyone know anything about the very recently made ones, either good or bad?

(Received my certs this week, so now officially in the market for one... :) )

Buy a Marlin. They work and parts are available. There is a reason why they are the most popular gallery rifle.
