I have the opportunity to buy an old BRNO .308 rifle
and just wondered if anyone had any experience with
the brand and if there are any issues to watch out for.

It is old but the owners licence shows only 200 rounds
purchased in ten years and 40 of those are still left.

Woodwork is as expected but everything else seems ok
and it is quite cheap so, if it is a lemon, the money side is
not an issue.

As to BRNO rilfes though, the better workmanship is to be found in the older ones.
If it looks good, then it probably is...

Personally I like BRNO rifles , I have a .22 Hornet and 2x .22 rim fires from the 50s and 60s , never had any problems with any of them . If you need to know the age of it the date is stamped on the left hand side at the joint of the barrel and action .

Nothing wrong with a BRNO, fine rifles.

He doesn't have an old BRNO 22 Hornet magazine by any chance?

I have/had K98 both DOT and DOU. Even the late war were perfectly made. I suspect your rifle could have come out of the same workshop.

He is a dealer in Devon and has a web page on Gunstar.
He advertises a .22 BRNO for sale and some BSA .22
magazines but I can't see the one you wan't.

Thanks for the link.

Been looking for one of these mags for a few years now with no luck, there is bound to be one, all alone and forlorn looking for a receiver to live in.

Just need to find it and asking is the only way.
