Guys I've measured the throat of my dta 243 barrel this evening with the 115 dtac. It measures 2.267" base to ogive. Now is the dtac a bullet that seems to like a jam or a jump? If it likes either buy how much?

I ask as I've found some bullets the seating depth seems to play a massive part in accuracy. A few thou in my 223 with the 75 Amax would see it shooting about .25-.3" to patterning like an open choke shotgun.

No one used the DTAC's?

It's not that no one uses them but no one can tell you what will work best in your rifle - only you can determine that by testing.

When I was shooting DTACs for 1000 yd BR, I was loading into the rifling about 10 thou BUT, I was running low neck-tension. In other words, when you close the bolt, the bullet is pushed back to exactly the same engagement with the throat.

The ogives on mass-produced bullets vary and, if you run 'normal' neck-tension, the ogive variation will bring about different seating - some bullets will be jammed, others just touching etc.

So, if you are running normal neck-tension, I would load 10 thou. off the lands - so none will touch the rifling.

Thanks gun pimp. I am indeed running a normal neck tension. I have measured the base to ogive on 1 box and they were very consistent. I just wondered if this was one of those bullets that seems to prefer a jump or a jam.

Honestly, I would try 'em ten thou off.
