I so want an M1 garand, I'm just worried about plod changing their mind on their legal status.
30cal is also on the ever growing list. even though everyone is the last one if my GF believes me....

! luckily for me, she doesnt want a big wedding, so i dont have to save much for that :)

30cal is also on the ever growing list. Such a nice rifle to shoot.

Is there a question mark or "grey area" concering the M1 Garand...?

I'm not sure I'd want one of these. Owning something that did not function as originally intended would (to me), be a bit like owning a Spitfire with the Merlin removed and replaced with a two-stroke.
I still like the look of the rifles but I'd prefer them the way they were intended to be (and of course, that's not an option over here).
Just my opinion and every man to his own as always.

No dont think so, these are new old stock actions Beretta/Berda made (unisseued) with new unported barrels (no gas system) built new in Europe for the UK Section 1 straight pull market. The M14 is made to the same UK standard all new parts.
Woodsman,
Was trying for this week but will have to take a rain check on that, yes I'm happy with the M1 wood.
Thanks Lasbrisas.

I could not agree more, but you put up with things to be able to shoot one. It's only like those who want to shoot pistol they now have to be long barrelled and a bar sticking out the back, to be allowed to be used in the UK, or have a muzzle loader. We had one of the first 1911 .22rf lookalikes hated it sold it.
I like WW1&2 style of rifles only other option was to get a deact...... welded solid not for me...
