Excellent!!
less than 24hrs for a 5 slot new variation. dropped it off at 3pm yesterday, phonecall at 4pm questioning one of my calibre requests (7.5x55). explained it was for a k31. They said it isn't on their system, so would 7.5mm be ok. I said sure, of course. was told to pop back the next day to pick it up. called in at 2pm today, and picked up my new ticket :)
now that's service

Eddie & the crew at Harpenden run a pretty slick operation :-) I too have had variation in a few days.

yep, Harpenden. I always drop off and ask to collect. I usually give them a photocopy of my ticket so that they have to have me collect to give them my old one.
It is certainly very slick. I think Katie deals with me. although it was one of the other guys that asked me about the caliber

I spoke to Eddie at a CT/DE meeting recently he seemed to be in fine form and I was surprised to see Peter there as well as I thought he had retired.

Eddie has only ever been a voice on the phone for me afaik.
I've met Mary at c&g while she was auditing. She seems really nice.
I can't remember who came and verified my cabinets were bolted in ok when i moved 6 years ago. but before that, the only other person i saw was when i got my ticket 11 years ago...
as i say, i can't remember who i spoke to yday.

Not my area, but definitely think it worth giving credit when they do a good job.
Sounds like excellent service.

Tremendous service - Police Scotland could learn a lesson or five from this.

Slightly off subject I know but.....
I lived in Hertfordshire and had a FAC and SGC issued by them, when I moved to Spain and imported a shotgun the Guardia Civil here, among other things, wanted a letter from Hertfordshire Police confirming that neither I , or my shotgun, had been involved in "criminal activity". With some trepidation I rang them and asked if they could do such a thing, the response was.......
"Certainly Sir, I assume you would like that in Spanish and sent directly to their firearms department in Calle Patricia Zammit, in Torrevieja? We will send you a copy of our letter to them with a copy for you in English"
And they did, the very same day! Bloody excellent if I may say so!
