Can someone explain the moa to me, I know what it is, but I don't know if a small or a large number is best.

it's an angle that's all, Minute Of Angle , roughly speaking it's 1" at 100 yards 2" at 200yards 3" at 300yards , get it?
it's very useful when shooting if you try and forget what the distance at target is and try to convert it , just work with the angular measurement , I use mils which is the metric version but as long as your reticule and adjustments match you'll find it easy.
for example , with a mildot reticule 1 mildot is 1 mil or 10 0.1 milrad clicks , however with an imperial scope it's 3.6 moa (roughly) or 14.4 1/4moa clicks.

Minute of angle, to keep things simple 1 inch is 1 moa at 100yards and it expands at an equal rate. So at 200 its 2 inches, 600 is 6 inches and so on.
If you shoot a group at 100 yards and you measure it at 1/2 inch then its a half MOA group so in theory its will be the same through the distances.

Good video, excellent refresher for when you haven't shot a scoped rifle for a while. Simple.

Cheers lads that's the easiest that's been explained, but with a red dot some say 1, 2, or 3 moa is that how much they can be adjusted? or am I way off.

With a red dot, the 1, 2, or 3 MOA dot is the size of the dot. meaning it covers that many minutes of angle.

So the smaller the number the smaller the dot?
