This mail from Swampy Milholland arrived in my inbox today.

Shooting suppliers and Shooters,

Swampworks Inc. / JLK Bullets is now registered with the US State Dept. as a manufacturer of military materiel. As such it is now OK for our bullets to be exported outside of US borders.

We are now accepting orders from international shooting suppliers that have their own exporter here in the US.

If you are a shooting supplier or distributor that does not have a US exporter to handle export paperwork please be aware that we are now in the process of having an update made to our US State registration. We will be modifying our status from "manufacturer" to "manufacturer / exporter". We will then be able to handle distributor orders from start to finish without the need for a third party exporter.
Please contact us if you need this level of order service.

If you are an international "end user" (Shooter) needing small bullet quantities then we recommend that you make your purchases through Mike Gregg at Reloading International. Mike will be carrying JLK's Bullets and selling small order quantities directly to end users. Mike handles all US State paperwork for these orders.

Apologies for being lazy, I am doing 3 things at once at the moment and if you have already worked it out, it will save me doing a fourth.

The prices quoted, are they a good end price for the UK or is it just a case of you can get components form this vendor that you can not get here in the UK and you are prepared to pay whatever it costs?

With Reloading International you can get some very good deals, I just picked up 500 155.5 Berger's in .308 as they were a 'special' The 180 Hybrids I ordered are either not available over here or are a very well kept secret.

Price wise they are cheaper but you need to add 10% for the export licence, plus carriage, plus 20% VAT at our end plus GBP8 for Parcel Force... End of the day they are cheaper than UK prices for some bullets. ReInt have a fixed carriage charge base don weight so to take advantage try different numbers of bullets and get the most you can for the fixed charge, for me it was 1200.

The 10% fee for license is ludicrous as they are not charged from their government such a fee.It is the same with export license for weapons some are charging percent of value.
My opinion is to look elsewere

I agree Filippo however even with the 10% charge it is still cheaper to buy from Reloading International that some of the UK stockists and I am yet to find someone cheaper that will ship to me here in the UK.

As much as I would like to support UK stockists shooting is such an expensive hobby that even a 5% saving is worth looking at.

If you place a small order it is ok on a big order is nonsense,their stock list is impressive but the prices they charge are not so
good.Do they want an import permit from you to get a license?Shipping charges are also very steep though it is not their fault.Have you compared hybrid versus VLD bullets in 7 mm?Any real advantage?

Last order I placed was for 1200 bullets and I think it worked out at around GBP42/100 delivered versus maybe GBP52/100 in the UK for the same so around 20% saving.

I have only shot with 180 target in the past as I did not want to spend the time developing OAL for the VLD's, I shot my first competition with 180 Hybrids at the Phoenix last weekend with virtually no load development other than a quick ladder load and then built to .012" jump. They seemed fairly good given the lack of preparation.
