Been hearing more and more and more about this round, the .300 aac blackout. Is anyone here in the uk selling the ammo?
Also is anyone selling a rifle chambered in it yet?

Most of the 'big lads' in UK AR manufacture will make you a rifle in that caliber. Never seen the ammo for sale though, I think most people have to reload it.

Blackout is a SAAMI standardised round and Whisper is a wildcat. When Remington were looking with AAC to produce a specialised round JD Jones of SSK, the inventor of the Whisper, wouldn't let Remington standardise it, which is what would have been needed to pitch it at military and police. So, with some minor tweaks to avoid infringement, bingo, the Blackout. It's a bit like 5.56mm NATO and .223 Remington.
But, some factory loaded Whisper ammunition might be loaded beyond the standardised pressure of the Blackout. I believe only Hornady produced factory ammo have ensured that the operating pressures are within Blackout specs so the ammo is capable of use in both chambers.

This is true, unfortunately one very well known one wanted over £325 extra for what is basically just fitting a different barrel from their standard .223 AR one, same barrel blank just a bigger hole/chamber in it. Maybe it's just me but I feel that was rather expensive :(

There's an interesting difference between them too in that .300 Whisper can be considered pistol calibre as it was first chambered in the Contender pistols. If your range is restricted to pistol calibre, then that's handy to know as the Blackout isn't.

For what its worth I have some commercial (Hornady) Blackout brass given to me by John MH. I am not sure if it was originally loaded by Hornady though or simply produced as a component
As a collector I should find out I guess
