Hi guys. I need some advice. I will be contacting my officer over this next week but it would be nice if someone knew the answer.

I bought a FAC Airgun a few mths ago. My particular gun comes with a Moderator as standard. I ordered it with a 'off set' moderator. At the time of purchase the off set wasn't delivered with the gun. It came with the standard one. I have just ordered the offset mod. If there are no numbers on this. What's the prcedure for this? What do I do with the old one? Also how can it be registered if there are no numbers on it??
Also both original and offset mods can be used on both FAC and sub 12 Edgun. I have both guns.
Cheers

If the gun is sub 12 foot pounds you don't need a FAC for either the rifle or the moderator.
Once a rifle is over 12 foot pounds then a FAC is required and any moderator (even if originally intended for a non-FAC rifle) has to be listed separately as you would with any other firearm moderator.
If it doesn't have a serial number it will usually be listed as NVN (no visable number) on the FAC.

If you switch the moderator from a FAC to a non FAC air rifle then it just becomes a non FAC moderator during that time - and if it has no numbers who could tell the difference anyhow? It's silly of course, but then much of our firearm legislation is.

If you sell one on the FAC you'd have to account for it eventually but given it had no serial number what's to stop you just keeping an old cheapo bit of Chinese junk in the cabinet and just leaving your ticket as is?

I have one Edgun shooting at 48fte. And one shooting at sub 12. I've ordered the off set one just to quieten it down a little. Could it just be swapped as the original one isn't recorded as such as it comes with one? I have moderator on my FAC. I will make a call on Tuesday i think.
