So, oomans, where do we get ourselves a snazzy rifle sling ? We're looking for something like, but stroner and broader than, the L85 S2 (nee SA-80) slings, adjustable to it can be used to carry a heavy rifle either over the shoulder or on the back, and also to support it whilst it is fired.

Isn't baler twine good enough for you woodland creatures?

Leather or synthetic?I also need a sling for my Sako 75 something in leather. I built myself a biathlon type for my AI which ticks the strong and comfortable and spreads load across both shoulders however it is not suitable for shooting off-hand. Then again nor is the rifle in its current form.

Synthetic, we thinks. This is for our Desert Tech and so leather would look out of place and probably be hard to make into a useful 3 position affair.

WE has a very good contact in the USA who has just taken over a sling making firm.
He does very nice nylon slings - want more info?

We have a TAB sling - seriously good kit.

Don't know about the M3......but I can recommend the Russian Army Spetsnaz SSO SPOSN Rt-3m 3 Point Weapon Sling, very well made and comfortable and very popular with Spetsnaz and MVD troops.I had a black one when I had my AK-104 carbine and it was perfect.They can be picked up on Ebay for around £10-15, don't let the low price put you off as SSO SPOSN kit is good stuff,ask Tovarisch Froggy about their Gorka-3, and they actually do quite a range of slings including single-point and padded two-point ones for PKM's etc.
