Someone posted this on a Facebook shooting forum recently regarding Manchester police asking for certificate holders to keep fired brass incase firearms or shotguns are stolen.

No doubt people will be shouting and screaming about the injustice of this, however at the risk of being hung drawn and quartered I cannot see an issue nor any hardship in doing this.

So they wish to identify a shotgun which has fired the cartridge by the primer indentation? and voluntary? and in Manchester?

Chubby Brown once said Manchester is like Iraq but with more guns so good luck with that one.

First mentioned on here about a year ago - http://www.full-bore.co.uk/viewtopic.ph ... P&start=20 about half way down posted by Activ8.

Seems GMP have been requesting this for a while.

I don't have a problem with that. No great hardship.

I've lost so much faith in the police, especially forces up North, that I'd be concerned they'd try and fit me up for something, or someone would clumsily get the cartridges mixed up somehow. Never volunteer anything is my policy.

When I obtained by first FAC about four years ago I was given a few small plastic bags and 'advised / requested' to save an example of fired cases from each firearm: I keep these in my section 2 safe.
