I just thought I would give credit were credit is due. After all the horror stories I have seen posted. Cleveland police is my licencing authority.
I received a letter about six weeks before it was due with a appointment time and date for the Fire arms licencing officer to inspect and collect my paperwork plus the check of course.
I phoned them and arranged a date that was mutually agreeable as I was going on holiday. The guy turned up promptly and on time on the due date.
He was chatty but very professional in his dealings with me. Then the bombshell I'm going on Holiday but Ill get on to it as soon as I get back. Oh dear I thought only four weeks until it runs out. Any way three weeks later it dropped through the letter box. I reckon if he had not gone on Holiday I would have got it back in approx 10 days. Outstanding in my book.
Everything I asked for and no chew at all. So that's it for another 5 years. Whoop Whoop I have slots to fill.

Always nice to give credit where it's due. I know my licensing area is woefully understaffed so you know it'll be quite a wait.

Seems to be amazing where I am (as the OP said, in comparison to some the horror stories Iv'e read here). My FAC took about a week to come through after the interview and all my multiple variations since have taken 4 or 5 days at the most. The one before last took 2 days.

What force are you under?

Mine took 5 months, got it this morning, was sent recorded too, first time they've done that.
