Holding Shotguns in Spain

Evening all, my boss has his SGC and a couple of shotguns over here in Blighty.
He also owns property in Spain, we had a brief chat yesterday and he was asking about taking it over for holidays etc, I sent him along the direction of the EFP.
However he did ask about keeping one over there permanently to make life easier if they fly over etc.

Anyone been down this route?
Any thoughts? A quick google hasn't helped.

My interest in Spain was piqued a short while back when I found out that our UK S.1 criteria re barrel/overall length is applied in Spain too - but across all long-arms = you can own a semi auto or pump action shotgun there with an unrestricted magazine, a folding stock & a 12" or 14" barrel...(and that's APART from the fact that handguns are still legal there of course!!)

I'd be keen to find out more about the Spanish law too - though I have zero interest in moving there (or even going there on holiday)

My view is to be lodged in Spain they would have to be permanently exported, the export licence is free of charge and can be raised through the SPIRE portal however they will require something from the Spanish end of things to confirm it the firearm can be legally imported into the country.

I took a 12 bore over many years ago by car. (I was working there briefly). I got a permit from the Spanish embassy in London.
