Any alternative "pay and play" range?

Hi all.

I've had a booking at Calton Moor cancelled, nowt you can do, these things happen.

Thing is I was taking my best mate shooting for a few hours, he got married yesterday and we shoot together a lot, we've had this planned for months!

Does anyone know of a pay and play range where we can take my rifles and have a few hours?

I've got FAC, all rifles and ammo, mate has nothing but lots of experience and he's very safe, has RO'd at national comps, was a member of Airebrough but has moved house and is yet to join a new club.

Any ideas oh great Full Bore?

SF.

Depends whereabouts you are?, there's The Tunnel at Charmouth, Dorset and another tunnel range at Stead Hall RPC, near Burley in Wharfedale.

There's Diggle near Oldham (check the calendar, it's under "Disciplines") I think it's £15 +FAC to shoot and Yorkshire Shooting Centre in Huddersfield.

Hi. My mate has no FAC so I think Diggle is out, as is the Yorkshire Shooting center.

I'm in Derbyshire, 12 miles from calton moor.

Stead hall seems devoid of a website, it's within range though.

Good start though, anyone else got any ideas?

:)

I would be surprised if this was a 'thing'... pleasantly surprised mind you.

I was under the impression that non members / ticket holders get short shrift pretty much everywhere where section 1 firearms are concerned.

Do they do it at Calton Moor then?

Yes, and the tunnel etc. It's all close supervision, I think calton moor do it on the estates license. Just like I can bring a friend to some land to shoot my firearms without him having a license.

Hi
Garlands do an open pay and shoot day every second Sunday in the month, 20 quid per person. Anyone can shoot as long as accompanied / supervised by FAC holder.
I will pm you

best regards

Fred

That's good to know, thanks. I doubt they can help me Thursday/Friday this week though.

Thanks for the ideas all, much appreciated.

I think I'll have to settle for an afternoon on the clays.

Tunnel Club in Charmouth is a trek (for you) but has no problems with non members. Pretty much anyone can book, turn up and have a go.

At Stead Hall non-members/guests must have a FAC.
