Grenade Launchers

Bear with me on this.... I was idly musing on things to shoot for 2017 and for some odd reason a grenade launcher sprung to mind. Now obviously you cannot legally own a S1 grenade launcher, or can you...

I was specifically thinking of the T148E1 grenade launcher however it is/was a semi automatic firing a 40mm projectile however you could in theory own and shoot a 2 Bore single shot shotgun that was within the 12"/24" ruling or in other words a 12" smooth bore barrel with a minimum length of not less than 24". You could use it to shoot slug and less than lethal projectiles which would give hours of fun and keep things vaguely steady by using shortened cases however the real problem is justification. How do you explain to your FEO that you 'need' a 33,6mm diameter short barrel shotgun, alternatively there is always the gurlie lightweight 4 Bore 26,7mm offering.

Anyone fancy owning/shooting something that looks bit like this?

There is also the single shot M79 that has to be relatively easy to clone as a 2 Bore

Here you go, it is basically a single barrel shotgun and Wiki tells me

Weight 2.93 kg (6.45 lb) loaded 2.7 kg (5.95 lb) empty
Length 73.1 cm (28.78 in)
Barrel length 35.7 cm (14 in)

Details?

The Viking has a single shot break barrel shotgun in the cabinet that she has forgotten about that would make a lovely donor...

The Wombat gun, that brings back memories! :good: Great fun to shot, accurate and fascinating to actually to see the grenade in flight. I'd love one even if it was a 2 bore. :p

Funnily enough - when I helped a Sec 5 dealer sort out a large batch of 203 launcher kits, I had the the same idea.

Mused on the legality if attached permantly to a legal length AR15 etc

However the 203s were rifled anyway and it was all too much of a headache to contemplate.

As to "good reason" - when I asked for a slot for a 18" barrelled side by side, I just said "target and vermin".

I reckon you would just need "target" - doubt you could justify 40 mike mike on UK vermin !!

Yep, back at work for last week and it's been mental but hoping the end of this week should all calm down a bit
You officially back at work now or still on your own projects
Would you get away with a 2 bore for falling plate??!!
