Reducing the friction on an S & B Scope

I have a couple of PM 11-2 5-25x56 S & B scopes on which the turrets seem to require more force to overcome the built in friction device between clicks. I am finding it more difficult to adjust the turrets these days and where I could adjust with just finger tips I now need to grasp the turret to adjust. This might be down to the ageing process and arthritic hands, but my question is, is it possible to adjust the friction to make adjustment easier?

send them back to S&B under warranty?

Why not take the turret drums off and have a look? I don't own an S&B, but most scopes with uncapped turrets have a protective O-ring to keep out rain and dust. This may need re-lubrication (I use a minimal amount of silicone grease) if there is excessive friction.

Perhaps they are deliberately designed that way for service use (Police and Military)? After all you wouldn't want the adjustments to move inadvertently when in the field but a target shooter will have a different requirement and may want to adjust his target scope far more frequently and easily.

I think you are probably right, but they seem to have stiffened up, or at least my fingers are not as strong and nimble as they once were. I'll email S & B and see what they have to say before attempting any rectification. Maybe it is as simple as has been suggested and the 'O' rings need lubricating.
