Time to get the S&L out for a few more shots today, I was also RO'ing so it was going to be an good day despite the heavy rain when I left at 07:30. As luck had it the rain cleared as I got to Cambridge and although the wind was gusting we had a reasonable turn out. S&L zeroed at 200m I headed out to 800 before having to RO, not having a bipod or sling fitted meant having to improvise. It worked.

After a quick plink on James's AI I left him to it and readied myself for work. He was shooting 190SMK's and we were in doubt as to their ability to get out beyond 1000 but I told him to log his shots and get on with it. I ended up as RO for 800/1000/1200 and back to 1000 for a final 90 minute stint so I was pleased to see he was putting them on the target very nicely at 800 and 1000, we were still not sure about 1200 and I had not chronoed the load so the only advise I could offer was wind the elevation up to my guess and get someone to watch for a splash in the sand. A handful of shots later he was nicely on the target, at 1200, with a 24" barrel and a 190SMK's Looking at his log book he was on the V a couple of time as well. I am dead chuffed as that is the first time he has shot his AI at 1200 and he uses a 10X KAPS 'scope. 8-)

I was pleased with the way he shot. You need to get that form in James and come and join us for the LR days, I am sure you would enjoy it.

It was a good days shooting, the weather was varied but I got scorched all the same and the wind was difficult but it all added to the fun and I saw some good shooting out at 1200 including a few people on the VB.

I am so impressed with James and those 190's, I have no idea how he managed to get them to work and I see them in a new light.
