So if you buy a firearm from a dealer and have it send to a local rfd you have to send your ticket to the selling dealer first
if you buy a shotgun from a dealer and have it send to a local rfd you have to send your ticket to the selling dealer first
what happens if its a shotgun ??
what if its a private sale ??

This has been done to death elsewhere, it may even be a sticky, but the same method is supposed to be done whether it be a private or RFD sale!

Yes, its ridiculous. It also doesn't matter whether its a shotgun or S1 gun.
What some people do is get the sellers RFD details and send their FAC to them and get the seller to fill it in the shop and get the dealer to send it back. But that requires a seller/dealer willing to do that.
Here's the thread;

Not sure of the problem.
Back in freer times, we'd buy handguns through the post....send our FAC direct to the seller, they'd fill it in & post it back, along with the pistol
No drama.
Happy to send off my paperwork to the sellers for completion.
Any issues develop? That what plod is there to sort out.

You answered this above.

You cannot send shotguns or firearms to a non-RFD. Just replace 'selling dealer' and 'dealer' with 'seller' in the above and you'll be on the money.
There are many posts on this, and I think a sticky as well. Do a forum search.
