Brindles trigger set up.

#1 Post by Alpha1 »

Any one know how you set up a brindles trigger. I have a mauser action after pulling the trigger the bolt wont lift if you keep presing on the trigger it eventually lifts and you can remove it as normal. It does not do it all the time just intermittently. I think its to do with trigger set up. I have no experience with brindles triggers can any one help.

You may very well have a broken return spring. Brindles was sold to Kevin Hill years ago. He was still making the sights and servicing triggers a couple of years ago. Drop him an email, this address might still work;

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I stripped the trigger and checked how it actually works. It turned out to be just a incorrect set up of the trigger tensioner. I reset it and it seems to be fine now.
Actually the rifle its currently fitted to is now surplus to requirements I'm wondering if it could be fitted to a P14 are the triggers normally bought to fit a particular gun or are they able to be fitted to other actions.
Its currently sitting in a Mauser large ring 7.62 target rifle action.

I have one on my P14 about the only thing I did was machine a solid spacer to replace the heavy spring under the mount of the trigger.
