Has anyone seen a firm confirmed date for when the expanding ammunition is moved back to sec1?

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2017/399/made
Provisions coming into force on 2nd May 2017

4. The day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act is 2nd May 2017—

(a)sections 36 and 37 (inspection);
(b)section 125 (Firearms Act 1968: meaning of “firearm”etc) in so far as it is not already in force;
(c)section 127 (possession of articles for conversion of imitation firearms);
(d)section 128 (controls on defectively deactivated weapons);
(e)section 129 (controls on ammunition which expands on impact); and
(f)section 130 (authorised lending and possession of firearms for hunting etc).
Not sure how much longer we would need to wait for this to be added to the Firearms Act.

Aha, so that is in writing and confirmed then thankssign

I think it will be added to the Firearms Act 1968 after the 2nd of May. They appear to always be behind with the amendments though.

The other one I think is interesting is the 8 weeks after the expiry of the FAC, one is no longer in unlawful possession the minute the FAC expires.
(If the application has been submitted 8 weeks prior to expiry date)

It makes sense instead of issuing a 7 however would it not be better to look at why there is a delay in the first place?

The 8 weeks thing will be a farce!
Poorly performing Forces will just assume the expiry date is just 8 weeks later then still have to issue sec7!

All rifle ammo, the only stickler is what becomes "rifle" and "pistol", give we don't have pistols in the normal sense anymore and we have rifles that use pistol ammo.

This should mean that A-max being pretty good at expanding should never have to be argued about again.
