They are not allowed under rules for FTR / TR because of perceived unfair advantage. I kind of disagree with that if it has 2 modes plot & score (vs plot score & wind graph) then its still up to the shooter to work out the best settings per wind. For some shooters it may be an aid to level the playing field if they have a disability (i know one shooter with tunnel vision & it would help him with plotting predicting wind). They could make great training aids being able to show properly plotted wind & elevation that I recon saves 3-4 points per team.

Issues will always centre on weatherproofing, readability in sun, battery life & function flexibility vs a pencil.... but imagine an app - on one screen a visual of the range flags (selected by point & touch & then image detected via a web cam) & your fall of shot auto recorded by a camera on a scope & an earpiece telling you the next best windage setting vs what the computer detects the flags & mirage vs previous fall of shots!

Cardboard & paper will be superseded eventually ........... but it may take a few at the NRA more time to get to grips with that!

I tend to use OneNote on my phone. I can type in my load details and take pictures of my targets and embed into the file. You can have multiple "Notebooks" so you can segregate by calibre or rifle. There's also a search function if you know what you're looking for but can't remember where it is. It's a free app on the Android Google play store.

I used to use Evernote years ago but I much prefer OneNote nowadays.
