Can anyone tell me about the low profile Shield Mini Sights. Is there any elevation/windage adjustment and can they be shot with one eye closed?
Would they work with a 'tactical' shotgun application and if not what are the alternatives?

Is there any elevation/windage adjustment - Yes
and can they be shot with one eye closed - Yes
Would they work with a 'tactical' shotgun application - Yes with the right adapter
The SMS and RMS are both great sights, 4 MOA seems to be the most popular.
Lots of alternatives, Vortex Viper and Venom we sell by the boat load too.

I remember Bentley showing me a vortex a few years ago that kept the red dot on what you were pointing at regardless of where your head was, not sure which one it was though. Will the Shield do the same and which is the more robust with greater clarity, Vortex or Shield? It will be used out to 50m with slug amongst other things.

Clarity is virtually identical in all of them. The Vortex is metal construction rather than the Shield's polymer, both withstand recoil and hold zero perfectly well on anything I've tried.
They're all Parallax Free so off centred head placement is not an issue. At that price point my preference on shotgun is the Venom (3moa), it comes with a pic mount too. At the next level up (c£300) the Shield RMS is my preference over the Vortex Razor. With unlimited budget the new Vortex AMG UH-1 is the nuts.

Both excellent sights, I think the optical clarity of the Shield is better, it has no on/off, the Vortext does.
I've only used them on .22 or 38 special, no issues with loss of zero on either, I can lend you a currently homeless Vortex to try if you wish.

Shugie, yes please if it will fit a Picatinny rail and you do not mind it being rattled around by a Pump Action 12 Bore :)

It will fit a Picatinny rail, and is meant to withstand heavy recoil. I'll box it up and send it over the next couple of days, got your address.
