Brass collecting

Does anyone on the forum collect unusual brass? I used to but lost most during my divorce and gave what I had left to my lad a few years ago. I was just reading about the .280 British and it set me thinking again.

We have a guy who is in the process of joining our club and getting his licence sorted out. He has a passion for WW1 & 2 so collects brass from that era as well as modern stuff. His collecection is quite comprehensive I believe.

He has fire engines to play with as well, ex fireman who now runs a museum.

Not sure when we will see him next but it would be a good project to put on here.

Looking good Jenks! I mostly seem to have buckets of 7,62X51 Berdan primed brass even though I posted a few kgs of the stuff out to someone earlier this year.

I did pick up a .50cal bullet in the butts the other day. The word 'Ooops' sprang to mind.

Bit of an oddity this and the poor pictures do not help. Case measures as 9x51 Headstamp is RG83 and it appears to have a smaller case let into it, peering down the end the inner case is around 30m long and is badly split, it could be as a result of being fired or because someone tried to push it out at some point. Does Anyone recognise it? I am guessing at a training round or maybe a latter day rifle grenade launcher.
