Does anyone know wether it is allowed to sell a .22rf rifle and get a free 1 for 1 variation for a .22rf LBR?

Yes, you should be able to do that by sending the request and your FAC directly to HQ.

Thames Valley are actually fairly quick at the moment. i did a one for one last week and it came back in a few days.

As long as you have good reason to possess then it should not be a problem.

Isn't it the case an LBR is a LBP but an LBP might not be an LBR?

That sounds great, as I have just sent my first application in to Thames Valley, any ideas on the current turn around for applications?

You can do a 1-4-1 variation of any slot, to any slot - providing you have 'good reason' for the new slot, it's not done on an 'equivalent' basis or anything. I've 1-4-1'ed a .22 sound mod slot for a Section1 shotgun, a 7.62x39mm rifle for a 9mm rifle etc etc

New applications are always going to take the longest, but I don't know how TV are doing on those at the moment. The only thing you can do is contact your FEO from time to time and try and find out where your application is in the process.
