I have a switch barrel rifle in .308, on my ticket i have a slot for a .300 win mag barrel for this rifle.
When i buy the .300 i will need a new bolt.Can i just buy a bolt to go with the barrel or does it have to be put on my FAC like a sound mod.

You will need a specific slot on your FAC for the additional bolt.

You are allowed to have some spare parts for your rifle (and not itemised on the fac) and a bolt was one that was mentioned, but whether this will technically be a spare or not as the barrel and calibre change is an argument for someone else to have.

The rule of thumb I was taught was that if it was a pressure bearing part that would require a proofmark then it would need to be on your FAC. For a rifle that is Barrel Bolt and Receiver, for a Revolver, Barrel, Frame and Cylinder and for a Semi Auto pistol, Barrel Frame and Slide.

Check with your FEO, this is one of those areas where there seems to be some "variability".

Is it a blaser bolt head or another type of straightpull that needs you to buy a whole bolt?

My AR spare Barrelled receiver & Bolt are both on my ticket in addition to the original rifle.

Yes, your barrelled action will be listed as I said above, and is your bolt part of the barrelled action listing or as a separate item?

The bolt is for a DTA SRS Rifle
