Can somebody explain.
Why are deact`s often cheaper than shooters, when the deacts are usually in better condition !
They cannot all have shot out barrels or failed proof

Bigger market, easier to sell for more money.

Perfectly good historic firearms are vandalised daily to meet the damned de-act market.

I’ve found its usually the other way around. My live SMLE cost me £250 but a deact will be close to double that.
Deacts hardly ever have all matching numbers though if that matters.
It’ll cost around £150 to deactivate a firearm or shotgun so that just adds to the price as well

I have found the same to be true, especially when old-spec deacs were still about.I must admit I hate deacs as a rule, especially after I was looking for an early original Imperial Russian M91 Mosin to go on my ticket.I found one that was all original with matching numbers/not Finnish-captured and dated from the early 1890's and at the end of the listing were the dreaded words....."deactivated to current spec", I could have cried!!!.

The new spec ones are nothing more than paperweights and I wouldn't give one house room, with the possible exception of a DShK MG.
