COMMONWEALTH GAMES IN BIRMIGHAM

It is to be hoped that ALL shooting organizations and local shooting clubs put pressure on the organizers to ensure that the shooting ranges are permanent AND available to civilian shooters after the Games. The ranges in Edinburgh for the thirteenth games were bulldozed with months of the games ending. Manchester refused to have ranges and screwed the NRA when they shipped the shooting events to Bisley where they got no news coverage. Glasgow shipped the shooting out to Dundee on military ranges that are NOT civilian friendly. The shooting events must be in Birmingham with the shooters being in the main games village and not isolated in some far flung temporary facility. One also wonders what happened to the Olympic ranges and facilities.

Or perhaps support local ranges that already exist.

I've heard the games are going to be paid for by a national 'hotel tax'??

If that's the case, i'd say the chances of there being shooting events at the games are approximately 0.
Maybe less.

Doesn't look good for shooting being contested at the games, although the decision isn't 100% yet

For all the effort involved it's worth a try. I linked it to my Facebook Page and was pleasantly surprised at how many friends signed it.
