Applied for a variation.

#1 Post by Alpha1 »

Is this a record;
I applied for a variation last Monday I hand delivered the paperwork. My new certificate came in the post on Saturday morning. So six days in total. Whoop Whoop. So on Monday I can pick up another couple of items on my bucket list.

teanews hmm whats next. Should I just flog the 6.5x55 built on a short action on the cheap or get it rebarreled decisions decisions. Still a couple to move on to fill the bucket list. Oh this is fun. Expensive but fun.

Best was while I waited at Bedfordshire County Headquarters although it is fair to say they knew I was calling in. Worst runs to months with Lincolnshire...

The Viking received her FAC yesterday, it expired 26 November last year, gawd knows what will happen with our RFD renewal which we have just submitted 6 months early complete with cheque...

In the old days I used to ring them in the morning drive up to Police headquarters sit in reception until someone came down and sorted it while I waited probably an hour in total.

Durham do seem to have their act together for normal variations/applications at the moment, long may it continue!

Hampshire has vastly improved over the last year or so and I've been really impressed. I remember a time about 3 years ago that it took 9 months to turn a variation around, and that's with no questions from either side. I did hear they had a major staff shortage and were recruiting back then. Looks like it worked.

My last variation was posted on a Monday and was back on the Saturday. Excellent service and my FEO is fantastic as well.

That's good to hear, Hampshire is currently a prime possibility for where I may end up when its time to move away from London in a few years time.

According to my local FEO as far as Aberdeen is concerned, I'm permanently on the naughty step O:-) - it seems I have previously put too many in and my requests are often too complicated...and this is why my variations take so long. However, being seen a bl**dy nuisance in their eyes is something I can live with. :twisted:
