Hi all,

Looking for info and suggestions for shooting a Taurus .38/357 LBR (7 shot) in practical competitions (targets on the move around a course of fire, not static gallery style), so looking for info on:

How many speedloaders ?
Type of belt ?
Type of holster?
Scope rail?
Pistol scope or red dot?
Anything else I've not listed above?

and make, cost and where from please

Yeah you can use them on the mini rifle comps along with LBP and lever release/underlever rifles, also on steel challenge, where you getting your LBR from? I picked up a brand new one from a gun shop in Radstock for £570 A few weeks ago.

Most people I see using the .357 Taurus seem to use HKS type speedloaders, 4-5 being the max, just in pretty bog standard leather pouches attached to a normal belt.

Its the people shooting the .45ACP or 9mm versions that have more weird and wonderful belt set ups as they have the 6 rounds in moonclips and then the moon clips on a metal pole stacked 3 on top of each other. I've seen someone with 6 x 3 of those on before!

If you're on Facebook have look on the UKPSA page for a guy called Richard Ingram, he seems to be smashing the international revolver scene at the moment (with a UK legal revolver as well!)

Oh and unless you're extremely well versed using a scope i'd recommend a red dot 100%

They cater for a lot down there.

Mines coming from the states. but not for a few weeks along with a new LBP.

Everyone seems to run speedloaders with belts, likely because ive not seen the ability to hold speedloaders on a vest or similar.

I only shoot gallery and I have the HKS speedloaders, but if you can get the "jet" style ones I think they are better.

On the HKS ones the rounds are locked into place using the knob on the top, which is what you use to pull the speedloader out of the pouch... its all to easy to twist that knob as you pull it out and you end up with loose rounds laying in the pouch...

My .38 Taurus LBR was converted to take moonclips. Much faster, but still more fiddly than a .45.

You won't find suitable Jetloaders, but a German company made something similar now very hard to find and expensive. I sold the ones I had only recently...

If I was to start again with an LBR I'd get a .45 I think, even though the capacity isn't as good as some of the 'specials' you see around these days.
