Hi - just in the process of having the gun room fitted out security wise, so soon I will be looking for suitable locking mechanisms to secure guns the wall. (Ideally vertical)
Are there any recommendations please ?

Thanks for your reply, which I appreciate.
I would still like them as a 2nd line of defence

why not just lock them in a cupboard if you want another line of defense?

surely the whole point of a gun room is the room is secure so nothing else is needed?
also, if someone can get into said room, do you think any wall locks etc will make any difference?

All replies are appreciated (Thank you), and I will take in to consideration.
All due respect - I would still like to know if there are any wall mount options for my rifles..

One option is to look into commercial locking mounts as used by RFDs - some shops have hundreds on the wall with really neat integrated trigger locking studs.

John Rothery wholesales these:

They’re a good balance between faff and security given they are already in a gun room. Speak to the wholesaler and I bet you could get them at a bulk rate and probably keyed alike.

You often hear 'shotgun clamps' mentioned on shooting forums where a person only has one gun to secure. I've always envisaged them looking like the clamps US police have their long guns inside patrol cars but i'm yet to see on in the UK. If you can find them that would be an option as they do fit vertically.

http://www.thepiecekeeper.net/home.html Bit pricey at £60 a pop! There's some sort of adaptor for shotguns so presumably rifles can be secured too.

Thanks all - I now have some options should I wish to use them.
