Replicating GGG imperial

I am trying to replicate GGG 155 Imperial using a REACH compliant powder (no more Varget).
Tried N140 and it would not produce velocity with out hard extraction, has any one replicated it.

GGG Imperial gives me average of 2625 FPS out of my 308 LMT 16 inch barrel and groups sub MOA. Worked up slowly to 46 grains N140 (GGG brass) to give average of 2610 FPs but extraction was hard

If you can let me know powders & charge weights it would save me buying powder only to never use it.

Thanks in Advance

TW

Have a look at a burning rate chart and choose a powder as near as possible to your original powder.

I don't know what powder GGG use.
I only know Bullet type & velocity from my Rifle

Sorry my mistake.
I shoot a 155grain Hornady Amax in my 308 using GGG brass with 43.2grains of N140 it works for me. But I rarely shoot past 300 yards.

Look at the reload Swiss powders...

RS52 works for me, 46.5 grains behind a Scenar 155 gives 3050 fps out of a 30" 11 twist barrel.

How the devil are you toffe wrapper? Long time no hear...............

Wild Boar is another option.

Are you looking for the closest possible ballistic match (possibly at the expense of accuracy), or for a reasonably close ballistic match with optimum accuracy?

I am well thank you for asking,

Rox

I want a accurate load near as damn it to the GGG as it shoots so well in the LMT. The N140 was as accurate but hard extraction & flat primers.
My pet load for my bolt action 308 was, Lap brass 46.5 gr Varget 155smk 2.84 OAL 2950 FPS out of a 26 inch barrel.
I tested my last few rounds of it in the LMT and it worked as well as the GGG. but sadly no more Varget.
I think I will get some RS 52 and develop a load with that.

Not sure why the need for high energy/double-base powder to achieve such relatively pedestrian velocity.

RS50 @ 46.0 grains is a common load used to achieve similar performance to 'Imperial' at great accuracy for the powder. I use it with Nosler CC as well as the Sierra, with quite some success. This is in a longer barrel though (30 to 32 inches), so you may need to redevelop a little to find the sweet spot.
