Phoenix Trade Show . RIP ?

#1 Post by MistAgain »

Arrived on Friday to find only three traders tents on the green , not a good start .

In the main tent loads of empty spaces , but that was almost normal when Shaun ran the show as many traders only came for Saturday & Sunday .

But on Saturday many spaces were still empty , although some clever traders had bagged an empty space to extend their stands , I hope they did not not charged for this kind hearted deed to make the show look better .

High spots of my visit . Richard Wilsons sweet new revolver , Alan Westlakes new home grown muzzle loading revolver , the M1 Carbine stocked Ruger 10/22 , with decent sights I can see this finding space in my safe , and thanks to the couple of traders who had bargain bins on their stand , you made my trip worth while .

But does the trade show have a future under the present management ? . Only time will tell .

Best bit for me was a bacon bap and cup of tea at Fat Tony's.

Very true lol

But how many times in the past have there only been three traders on the lawn ?

And how many times have there been at least 9 unsold stands ?

it was slow all weekend, picked up when siren went and then some shooters came to visit during lunch

the NRA guy actually suggested that traders could move to take up the empty stalls, that was much appreciated and obvisouly clearly benefitted them too, or the central street of the marquee would have been rather desolate.

Was it expensive to exhibit? I wanted to go but was double booked.

From memory prices are based on other shooting shows in the UK. Could have changed.

Apparently the stand prices went up last year, and again this year...

I didn't go, but I heard from someone who did go and they said it was poorly attended by retailers... when he asked one of the exhibitors, he was told of the price hike..
