I have a set of TPS 30mm scope rings that a member of my club is interested in. He has a one inch tubed scope he wants to fit.
He likes the idea of the 30mm rings for future proofing and thinks buying reducer rings (30mm - one inch / 25mm) might be viable and asked my advice.
I have no clue. So then ... reducer rings ... are they a sound idea or a bit of a bodge?
Also, are they fiddly to fit?

I've had a few sets of rings come with spacers to use with one inch tubes, can't say I have found them to be a detriment. The scopes stay zero'd to the rifles they have been used on within what I deem to be acceptable. YMMV.

I didn't realise that you could buy the reducers separately. I do know that Burris make rings that come with reducers so perhaps look for a set of these.

Cheers. And yes, a quick search on Ebay reveals plenty of plastic and a few anodized reducers / spacers.

As with anything rings, make sure he gets some good quality precision made spacers, or he might find that the spacers twist/bend his scope when tightened up to spec.
