Query on Moderators

Ok, so i have empty "slots" for a .22 rf moderator, and a .223 moderator.

I'm planning on going out tomorrow and ordering a Wildcat Evolution for the .223 (now that I've discovered that my Steyr AUG is not the normal M13x1 LH thread that I've believed since I bought it...!!).

Both the .22rf and the .223 are 1/2'' UNF thread. and obviously the same calibre, so the Evo will fit both rifles, but what will the RFD put on my FAC..?? and if (as i would assume) he puts it down as a .223 moderator, will I legally be able to use it on the .22rf..??

Thoughts Gentlemen...?

The RFD will most likely put .22 moderator on your ticket, since the manufacturer designates it as .22 but advises it is good for:
.22 cal Purple including 556/22H/222/223/204/22.250/.22 swift
http://www.wildcatrifles.co.uk/moderato ... oding.html

I have more than 10 moderators, mostly for my .22LR rifles and they are all listed simply as .22 on my ticket.

The Hausken SK156 is rated for .22LR all the way up to .22-250

If I had a .22-250 and I bought the Hausken for that rifle, I could also use it for my .22LR without any concerns.

The number of moderators does not have to equal the number of rifles you have. Provided they are all on the same ticket, you can mix and match.

Watch out for unburnt powder. If used on rimfire you may get unburnt powder which would safely sit there on rimfire but ignite on centrefire.

Thanks Guys... I doubt whether I would ever put it on the rimfire, its a range queen and not exactly noisy.. :-)

I just wondered...
