I have the opportunity to acquire a Carl gustaf sporting rifle in 6.5x55. I don't recall ever seeing a 6.5x55 Carl Gustaf sporting rifle. Do you think it as been modified or did they make a sporting rifle. Its very nice it's the right price and I have a slot. What do you recon.

it may be a conversion like a Parker Hale, but I dont know either way it looks nice.
If it fits and the price is right I would go for it

It will be a sporterised military version and probably very accurate plus great fun to shoot, why are you dithering????

It didn't go horribly wrong. It's a beauty. It is a conversion but very nicely done. Its an original military 6.5x55 carl gustaf that's had the front site cut off and screw cut. The stock is a lovely piece of wood. Its fitted with leupold bases and rings and a Leupold scope. It turns out I know the guy who the dealer was selling it for. So she is in her new home I just need a range day now to try her out. It will be two weeks before I can get her on the range at 300. In the meantime I will have a measure using some of the shooting sheds shiny things and make some ammo in readynas.
hmm

whats next

Funny old thing, my last Carl Gustav was 84mm
Enjoy it either way, looks like a beauty. I dont keep rifles I wont use but I have to be honest I would like something like that, just to shoot.

And shoot it does Im very happy with it. Ovenpaa / Sim G I'm glad I listened to you she is indeed a beauty. A lot easier to reload for than my other 6.5.
