A friend of mine is looking to get his stainless 357 under lever Marlin rebarrelled.
Does anyone have any suggestion/recommendations as to who might be able to do this?

Many thanks for your help.

I would speak to Roger at rimfire magic, if he can't do it he will know who can.

Why does he want to re-barrel it, surely he hasn't shot out the barrel or has he damaged the existing barrel in some way?

If not shot out and he merely wants to have a different style of barrel I would have thought it more cost effective to sell that rifle and buy another with the barrel that he desires.

I believe that Davy at the Shooting shed may have done these.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I believe it is a damaged barrel he is trying to replace.

One of our club members had a quote for just over £600 to supply and fit a new barrel to his barrel damaged Marlin last year, and that was a blued one not a S/S barrel.

Yes, I fit a few every year, always because the previous one has been damaged.

How has it been damaged?

They always have bulged or split barrels, every single one of them has come in like this, we once saw four in six weeks.

I also get asked to shorten the barrel and magazine tube from time to time, usually on 45's and invariably they are chop to 12" and screwcut to accept a sound moderator.
