There has been a bit of discussion about the numbers and who you can trust...

Here are a few dashboards from different, hopefully trustworthy, sources:

Global data
UK Data

Apologies if you are tracking these already

Daman, thanks for posting.

I have been thinking...it looks like the numbers we see updated daily may not correspond to the actual events.

Jenny Harries says that the Government is transparent which I believe it is however...
King's College Hospital Trust said 31 patients had died at its three hospitals over a six-week period due to coronavirus, but that official figures held centrally by NHS England and published by the Government showed 11 deaths.
...the answer to that is that it takes time for the system to update.

Does that mean the increase we see daily in both deaths and infected is old data?

I just watched the daily Government update and yes it takes time to update.

Just as they have been all along on this whole thing, well behind the curve.

As long as they always dither and play "wait and see" whilst relying on ludcrous predictions by one of their experts who hasn't a bloody clue and changes is mind daily then that's where they'll always be. teanews

A lot of the stats in the above dashboards are 'lumpy'. Some countries update hourly, others (e.g. UK) only once a day. And then the dashboards themselves take time to upload and reflect the new figures. Add to that the lack of testing in most countries and we can only assume the real figures are higher than what we see on the dashboards.
